CASE: LEARNING ABOUT SGD’S TRUCK

Today we know that a sustainable society must be rooted in respect for the environment and life, for the differences and the universal right for freedom. In order for all people to know their rights and fight for it, was created the Truck Meeting SDGs, transporting knowledge to where it is most needed.

Intending to develop a circuit of activities with the themes of Sustainable Development Goals, defined by the United Nations, the truck traveled throughout Brazil.

It was NTICS responsibility, the truck’s producer, to determine how to present UN Agenda 2030 with creativity, efficiency and offering entertainment. It aimed to take to the residents of many cities information, ideas, change of habits and values, promoting empowerment. It was NTICS task to introduce the 17 SDGs in an immersive way, through activities, workshop, services and interventions, providing at the same time knowledge democratization and recreation. On the truck the planet necessities were revealed using a lot of fun: artistic workshops where it was created mandalas using PET bottles, aiming to demonstrate the power of recycling; face painting, to value the differences, interactive games that stimulate cooperation. Entire cities engaged to join it, to learn more and multiply the knowledge in each family, school and community.

The project Truck Meeting SDGs carried the seeds for a better world from north to south of Brazil. In the cities of Joinville (SC), Rio Claro (SP), Manaus and Puña (AM) it rouses the awareness for environmental preservation and of our role as transformation agents. The ambitious goal of NTICS is for it to circle all Brazilian capitals until 2030.

Before the Truck parked it was noticed in each of the places that people did not know about Agenda 2030, not even about the 17 SDGs. It was necessary to think on how to sow sustainability not only while the project is present in cities, but especially when it has to leave. The seed sowed by the Truck Meeting SDGs in each city, each school, each park, germinated and flourished thanks to the partnership with local companies, intimately involved with human, economic and social development. Companies which contribute for a fairer, cleaner and more sustainable world for all of us.
